The UK Prime Minister Tony Blair has pledged his support for a new organisation set up to combat climate change and global warming.

Blair was at the launch, in London, of The Climate Group, which aims to bring together leading companies, financial institutions, civil organisations, state, city and national governments in an effort to accelerate efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

The Climate Group says its job is to go beyond the 1997 Kyoto Protocol which set varying targets and dates for countries to reduce greenhouse gasses. But the Kyoto agreement itself is looking in danger of never being ratified by countries like Russia and the United States.

So what does this new organisation think it can do? Reuters.

Well, regardless of the cash or the delusions of its members, The Climate Group sure can’t switch off the biggest thermo nuclear and electromagnetic furnace in the solar system.

The closest star, our sun is an unbelievably huge heat source that according to NASA is in a mega cycle of increased magnetic activity, firing off solar storms from its sunspots at sizes and levels of ferocity previously unrecorded.

This furnace around which our tiny and fragile spaceship orbits in an elliptical course is variable in intensity and has its own cycles of heating and cooling which, believe it or not, actually affect us and our weather.

What do you think caused the melting of the ice sheets 12000 years ago and raised the sea levels by 300 feet, if it was not the Sun?

Do our leaders really think that the food, water or even the air we breathe would exist without the suns energy?

Our wise ancestors were very aware that the Sun was the creator and destroyer of life on earth on a cyclical basis and left us plenty of messages in myth and religion to keep us aware of this inescapable fact so that we could sensibly plan our survival.

There are a huge army of intelligent and wise scientists who have been pointing to the sun as the cause of global warming for years and who say that global warming would happen regardless of whether Mankind existed or not. Their voice is ignored because it does not fit in with current political agendas.

Researchers are already warning of a rise in sea levels as the ice caps melt.

Somewhere on our tiny planet a miniscule dot of temporary self inflated consciousness called Tony Blair spoke with ignorant passion to this new and utterly impotent group during a freak heat wave followed by the worst spring thunderstorms to hit England in living memory causing the violent flooding and destruction of thousands of homes.

The Climate Group might have more effect if they got down on their knees in humility and repeated the Lords Prayer.

“Our Father (The Sun) who is in Heaven (The Sky)
